The BAM 06 vintage has arrived: a selection of around fifty acts for an audience looking to discover an eclectic range of sounds live, originating from the furthest corners of the globe. Acts that will be shared out between 7 stages, all open to the public: 5 in the centre of Barcelona and 2 in the Parc del Fòrum. The two zones will have different and therefore compatible timetables. Furthermore, two technical conferences are being organised dedicated to Mediterranean music, with the festivals of Mare Nostrum taking part. Each stage has its own style, and each group is own origin and destiny. Groups and artists arriving from Mediterranean Africa (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia) and from the southern Sahara (Congo and Niger). From the other side of the Atlantic, two groups from Columbia and five from the United States (mostly DJs). There will be five acts from the United Kingdom, thirty three from Europe, of which thirteen are from seven different countries (Germany, Austria, Finland, France, Norway, Sweden) plus ten from Spain and thirteen from Barcelona and the countries of Catalonia. So there you have it. A combination of styles and influences that without a doubt offer a real and current day panorama of the rhythms that are cooking in the four corners of the compass, and that the BAM offers to the public so that each one of us may discover endless enjoyable surprises.
