Yes, for years I have lived in this zone, where Les Corts and Sants meet, and I like it.
Would you like to move? Why and where to?
I wouldn't mind living in Sant Gervasi, where I was born. Really, I love Barcelona, and as long as I don't change my city, I could live anywhere.
Do you spend time in your neighbourhood and with your neighbours? Do you have the shops you need nearby (baker's, grocer's, dry cleaner's)?
Yes, there is everything I need, and I usually buy in the local shops.
As well as doing your daily shopping (if you do it) do you have places and services for all your needs?
For emergencies (chemist's, electrician, etc.), there is no problem, you can find them all right here. For specific purchases, such as clothes, I tend to go to the centre.
Do you stroll around your own neighbourhood for pleasure or do you go elsewhere?
There, no. To stroll around, which I don't have much time to do, I go to the Gòtic, the Born, to the Passeig de Gràcia...
Which are your favourite cinemas, theatres and clubs?
When it comes to the cinema, the Cinesa Diagonal. I go to the theatre to see something specific, even though I tend to go to those in Paral·lel. To have a drink, I go to the Born, or around Santaló, Amigó, Francesc Macià...
And which are your favourite restaurants, bars and cafés?
Well! I love to find new restaurants: every weekend, which is when I go out, a different one. In summer, to the area by the port; in winter, the Eixample and away from the sea, as far as La Venta. I like La Venta. And to have a drink, the Merbeyé.
Is there any public area where you like to go, to sit and chat?
No special place, any cafe or my living room at home. What is really important is that you have your best friends around you.
When you have to act as a guide for visitors, where do you take them?
The Sagrada Família, the Passeig de Gràcia, the port... Recently, some American friends came, and one of them is an architect: I also showed them what has been built since the Olympic Games.
What is the most appropriate, funny or surprising adjective you have heard to describe Barcelona? Which one would you use?
They say it is a fashion city. I would say: "pleasant". It is the most pleasant city to live in that I know, and I know a lot.
Of where, between the sea and Tibidabo, do you have the most memories?
Tibidabo. When I was little, my parents often took me there.
Which is the best place (a park, a café, a seat in the city) to have a romantic date, or to be able to whisper sweet nothings to a loved one?
Any quiet pavement cafe or bar, with the city at your feet.
What colours or smells, when you see or smell them anywhere in the world, remind you immediately of Barcelona have had to leave the city for a while, what have you missed most?
The smell, I can't really say one, I don't feel involved in the complex world of smells. When it comes to colour, there is no doubt: blue, our blues are fantastic.
When you have had to leave the city for a while, what have you missed most?
Everything. I am really Barcelonese, and the more I travel, and the more I am away, the more I need it. The comfort, the climate, the light, the streets, the people, friends, family, everything.
Which of the changes that have been made in the city recently are you happiest with?
The renovation of the buildings, the cleaning of the facades... The "Barcelona, posa't guapa" has stolen my heart.
What don't you like, and what would you do to change it?
The Forum area, I find it impersonal. There are too many hotels, too many useless spaces ... I like the city to have more personal dimensions.
Add anything you would like to say, and that we haven't asked.
I would like to add that I am a born propagandist for Barcelona. When I am travelling, I ask everybody if they know it. If they tell me no, I say: "But that is not possible, it's not possible. You are missing out on the most beautiful city in the world." And I am always like that.
