Do you spend time in your neighbourhood and with your neighbours? Do you have the shops you need nearby (baker's, grocer's, dry cleaner's)?
There's everything, and I like the size of the neighbourhood. From Carrer Costa to Passeig de Sant Gervasi.
As well as doing your daily shopping (if you do it) do you have places and services for all your needs?
Yes. Although I like to find everything in the city centre.
Do you stroll around your own neighbourhood for pleasure or do you go elsewhere?
Yes. I don't have much time to walk around. I always go straight to where I have to go.
Which are your favourite cinemas, theatres and clubs?
The Cinesa Diagonal and the Bosque cinemas are very convenient, but you have to go into the centre for theatres and night clubs.
And which are your favourite restaurants, bars and cafés?
There are many different ones, from the "Frare Blanc" (Asador de Aranda) and the Atlàntic, to the very simple but pleasant ones such as Casa Arias, which is right by me, in Carrer Agramunt.
Is there any public area where you like to go, to sit and chat?
I like being able to do this in the gardens of Parc del Putxet, very private. Sometimes I have had a meeting for work there.
When you have to act as a guide for visitors, where do you take them?
To live, to the neighbourhood; but for friends who come as tourists, to the historic centre and the most emblematic buildings, around Passeig de Gràcia.
What is the most appropriate, funny or surprising adjective you have heard to describe Barcelona? Which one would you use?
For young people it is cool; I find it more cosmopolitan.
Of where, between the sea and Tibidabo, do you have the most memories?
The Eixample, always different and full of life and everything.
Which is the best place (a park, a café, a seat in the city) to have a romantic date, or to be able to whisper sweet nothings to a loved one?
I think there are a lot! Very many
What colours or smells, when you see or smell them anywhere in the world, remind you immediately of Barcelona?
Bread spread with tomato, cured ham and "crema catalana".
When you have had to leave the city for a while, what have you missed most?
I feel nostalgic on every trip. Luckily it's only for a few days, if not I would not be able to stand it.
Which of the changes that have been made in the city recently are you happiest with?
TMore than some specific detail, there are many projects going on. Conserving façades of buildings, pedestrianising more streets, the new museums, the bridge over the port, Maremàgnum, the Trade Centre, the third airport runway (even though solutions for the noise problem still need to be found), the underground lines and all the infrastructures from the Olympic Games and the Forum. I like the new projects and constant growth as one of the important cities in the world.
What don't you like, and what would you do to change it?
- There is always something that can be improved, but the overall balance of all that has been done, for me, is enough to make me feel satisfied.
