More or less. I have moved house more than once and I feel that I enjoy moving from time to time. But I like where I live now. Very near Turó Park, and much more... I really cannot complain.
Would you like to move? Why and where to?
I don't reject the idea of moving, as I said, I like change. I would move to a house with a garden, but very near the centre, because I am a complete "urbanite", and cannot bear to waste time going from one place to another.
Do you spend time in your neighbourhood and with your neighbours? Do you have the shops you need nearby (baker's, grocer's, dry cleaner's)?
I usually buy in my neighbourhood, but I also like moving around, looking for and buying from places where there are interesting things.
As well as doing your daily shopping (if you do it) do you have places and services for all your needs?
Yes, all my basic needs are covered, and more.
Do you stroll around your own neighbourhood for pleasure or do you go elsewhere?
I am fidgety and I like to walk around and see things. So perhaps I don't really spend time in my neighbourhood, as most people would understand.
Which are your favourite cinemas, theatres and clubs?
I usually go to the Cinesa Diagonal because it is nearby, and it is very comfortable. I go to the theatre to see what I find interesting, without worrying about where it is on, and when it comes to night-clubs, I like going around the areas of Born and Ciutat Vella very much.
And which are your favourite restaurants, bars and cafés?
Again, I usually go to the Born, or anywhere in Ciutat Vella, but I don't have a preferred restaurant or bar.
Is there any public area where you like to go, to sit and chat?
Unfortunately I don't have much free time, but I particularly like the parks and green areas, overall to talk, laugh and enjoy myself with my children.
When you have to act as a guide for visitors, where do you take them?
It depends on the visitor. Barcelona, luckily, has a lot to dazzle people with very different tastes. And I have a lot of concrete routes, depending on whether they are lovers of design, architecture, fashion or history...
What is the most appropriate, funny or surprising adjective you have heard to describe Barcelona? Which one would you use?
I have heard people say that this is the most complete and equilibrated city they know, taking into account its size, enough but not excessive. And it must be right because I have heard it many times. I cannot be objective when it comes to Barcelona because I love it too much, but I agree with this definition.
Of where, between the sea and Tibidabo, do you have the most memories?
I recall with real emotion the scenes of the Olympics, which has opened so many doors to the world: receiving the torch in the port, the opening of the stadium on Montjuïc... I also had the tremendous luck of being able to see them from a very privileged place.
Which is the best place (a park, a café, a seat in the city) to have a romantic date, or to be able to whisper sweet nothings to a loved one?
In Barcelona there is an infinity. Do not put me in the compromising position of having to choose just one.
What colours or smells, when you see or smell them anywhere in the world, remind you immediately of Barcelona?
The smell and colour of the sea. Is there any Barcelonean who is not mad about the sea? But immediately you start to compare, and there is something very subtle you can notice and identify: the smell of our sea is formed by century-old civilisations. I wouldn't change it for any other.
When you have had to leave the city for a while, what have you missed most?
When I go, it is almost always for work, and I leave my children at home. I miss everything, but particularly my children.
Which of the changes that have been made in the city recently are you happiest with?
For me it is important that the fronts of the buildings are cleaned. Cleanliness in the city is fundamental, and I am very happy that they are renovating lovely areas which have been left abandoned or were not used appropriately. I am also happy that pavements are being widened, that new bicycle lanes are being created, and that the sea front is being recovered, although I am sad that they have destroyed the beach bars, the "xiringuitos" of Barceloneta, which is an irreparable loss to the taste of Barcelona.
What don't you like, and what would you do to change it?
I hate the traffic, even though I know it is difficult to solve. And I feel that the roads leading into and out of the city are insufficient.
Add anything you would like to say, and that we haven't asked.
That, as the serious traveller I am, always going from one place to another, I think and confirm, increasingly every day, that this is one of the cities with the best quality of life in the world.
