Dr. Pekka Himanen
Dr. Pekka Himanen is the Director of the Berkeley Center for Information Society and the author of "The Hacker Ethic" (2001, translated into fifteen languages) and "The Information Society and the Welfare State: The Finnish Model" (2002, with Manuel Castells). Himanen obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Helsinki and has since carried out research, and lectured extensively, in Europe, Asia, and the United States. Among his many adviser positions, Himanen has advised the Finnish government, parliament, and President on the information society."
