Stephen R. du Mont
Mr. Du Mont currently is a Corporate Vice President at Cisco Systems, Inc., leading the Global Public Sector Internet Solutions Team. He is also serving as Chairman of several international technology companies, located in the U.S. and Europe. Prior to joining Cisco, he was involved in both the private and the public sectors, in a consulting capacity, and has filled the management leadership role of change agent, for several transforming enterprises.
He spent many years with a major international management consulting firm, supporting clients in over 50 countries and evolving to the level of Worldwide Managing Director. This provided opportunities to lead technology implementation engagements for all levels of government entities, as well as for commercial enterprises. He had the direct responsibility for the creation of a change management methodology and the building and management of an associated global practice. He was responsible for advising two major countries in their migration from Soviet inspired centrally planned economies, subsequently receiving invitations to and setting up the first western consulting operations in these countries. After providing consulting support to the U.S. Department of Treasury, he was offered a Presidential appointment as Assistant Secretary, responsible for Information Technology, but elected instead to accept a private sector management position. This resulted in leading four different international consumer goods company groups through technology facilitated transformations, in the capacity of COO or CEO.
Academically, he pursued Electrical Engineering at the undergraduate and graduate levels, specializing in computer design, and is a Registered Professional Engineer.
