What we do
Barcelona Fire Department has staff and equipment for many operations.
We carry out the tasks of rescuing people in risk situations, including:
- Road traffic accidents
- People who are trapped inside lifts
- Accidents and emergencies involving underground transport
- People who are trapped or unconscious inside their homes
- Searches for people who have fallen in wells, at the port, etc.
We extinguish fires in buildings and establishments in the municipality.
- Fires in dwellings and other buildings
- Forest fires
- Fires in industrial premises and logistics warehouses
- Fires in the public highway
We carry out technical assistance relating to the various areas of speciality of the service. In accordance with the experience and period of implementation of our service, we carry out the following tasks in the municipality:
- Removing vehicles from the public highway
- Urgent operations on buildings suffering structural damage
- Actions required due to adverse weather conditions
- Incidents involving the various energy supply systems
- Alarm disconnection
- All kinds of incidents occurring on public highways
We carry out the preventive action needed in order to reduce the risk levels in each of the various operation scenarios.
