The Assembly is the supreme governing body. It is made up of all the member cities. Its main functions are:

To adopt the report on activities.

To adopt the general lines of activity of the Association.

To adopt the budgets.

To monitor the activity and management of the Executive Committee.

  


 
 
 
The Executive Committee is made up of the following cities: Adelaide, Barcelona (Presidency and Secretariat), Changwon, Granollers, Guadalajara- Mexico, Katowice, Lisbon, Lomé, Lyon, Rennes (Treasury), Rosario (vice-Presidency), Sao Paulo, Tampere and Turin.

 
Amongst others, its powers are:

Management and representation of the Association.

Choosing of the cities to host the international congresses.

  


 
 
 


Undertakes:

The day-to-day management of the Association and city service.

To support the thematic and territorial networks.

The incorporation of new cities.

Carrying out the resolutions of the Executive Committee.

Day-to-day management of the BIDCE and the gathering of new experiences as well as any useful documents related the objectives of the IAEC.

To support the city hosting the international Congress of Educating Cities.
