Accessibility of this website
The bcn website is committed to developing a web page without any visual or technological obstacles, so that it is accessible for the maximum number of people, bringing new technology within reach.
To achieve this objective, the bcn website applies the WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) standards adopted by the European Union. The aim of the bcn website is for all Barcelona City Council web pages to follow the guidelines for accessibility, at level AA, as defined by the WAI. These guidelines offer strategies for website design, so that they can easily be converted to other formats for website accessibility.
Included in the strategies for making the website more accessible, there is also the possibility for the user to change text size and deactivate the page default design, so that the information is easier to read.
Applying these standards, all those who have difficulty in using a website, including people suffering from certain disabilities, can successfully access information on the website.
To test the accessibility, the website has collaborated with different organisations and associations for people with vision and learning difficulties, as well as the Pont del Dragó school, which is specialised for people with motor disabilities.
