The Junta Arbitral de Consum de Barcelona (the Barcelona Board of Consumer Arbitration) commenced operations on 13 May 1993. Since then, it has, due to its decisive intermediary role and prestige, become a key tool in resolving differences between consumers and users, on the one hand, and retailers, industry and services on the other. The mission of the Junta Arbitral de Consum is to consider and issue findings (that are binding upon the parties and enforceable in nature) regarding complaints and claims made by users concerning their statutory rights.
The Junta Arbitral is made up of a Chairman, a secretariat, a legal advisory service and an administrative team that performs and manages all the tasks required for the resolution of disputes submitted before the Junta.
